Open Austin
Founded in 2009, Open Austin is a non-profit based in Austin, Texas. They addresses local social and civic challenges through the creative uses of technology. Work was completed to update their branding and presentation from the years 2015-2020.
A new logo was created for Open Austin to put less emphasis on the coding brackets “</>” and help to market the organization to non-code contributors that help keep the civic tech ecosystem sustainable.
Updated content and language for an iteration of Civic Hacking 101 by Open Austin was created to provide information to those new to the concept of open government, data, and technology.
It highlights examples of projects and expands on the definition of what civic tech is and how it is used.
