Civic Hacking Presentation Reimagination

Civic Hacking 101 by Open Austin was created to provide information to those new to the concept of open government, data, and technology. The presentation was given at monthly Civic Hacking Nights and to audiences who were new to the concept of civic hacking.

Updating and presenting this presentation introduced numerous community members to concepts relating to more accessible and open government.

Role: Presenter and presentation design

The Presentation

My contributions were restructuring existing content, adding and editing new content, and adding more artistic interactive graphics.

This work was completed while I served as the volunteer Marketing Lead and later the Brigade Captain for Open Austin from 2015 to 2019.

We hosted monthly community civic hacking nights and were engaged with various companies, non-profits, and government offices to advocate for open government, open-source technology, and civic technology.
